Protestant Academy Tutzing
A magic spell lies over old castles which also the visitors of the Protestant Academy Tutzing cannot evade: Wild vine and lush verdant ivy is clinging to the yellow facades, coats of arms decorate the archway, old wrought-iron windows on the ground floor, weathered baptismal fonts and late Roman sarcophagus give a special flair to the park and the castle. Everything reminds us of former owners of the castle, whose names have gone, hidden in calendars of nobility and heraldry books.
However there is one thing that survived throughout the centuries - the castle has remained a place of meetings until today. Annually about 13,000 visitors take part in approx. 100 conferences of the Protestant Academy Tutzing, which has been using the rooms of the castle since 1947. Starting with modest beginnings of a "protestant facility for soldiers who had returned from war - and leisure activities" an impressive facility has developed over the last 60 years. It is also referred to as "think-tank" on Lake Starnberger See or "tent for reflection". The facility is to serve as a "bridge of understanding in our society" - Tutzing is to be a place where people come together in order to exchange their ideas about what they believe in and what they do.
If you wish to be regularly informed on the events in Tutzing and appreciate to take part in the social discussion reflecting the work of the Protestant Academy Tutzing, then pay us a visit.
